

Grigori Sergei Sarolea is born on 9 april 1967 in The Hague (Netherlands).
He grow up in a fimaly which professed the Russian Orthodox Church.
His parents sang in the choir of the Russian Church in The Hague
Gregori was acolyte from his seventh until his twentieth year, so he learned know the usages and music
of the Russian Orthodox Church from inside
In 1986 he started with conducting Byzantine churchmusic and studied on The Royal Hague's and
the Rotterdam conservatorium. Throught self-directed study he became a specialist on the field of
Slavian-Byzantine church-music.
On this moment he is conductor four choirs.
In 1990 he became conductor of the Hoorn Byzantine Men's Choir
